Eye2eye Britain Panoramic 9

Publisher: Eye2eye Software Ltd

Eye2eye Software of Cambridge have completed a 3 year project to systematically photograph Britain in hi-res 360 degree panoramas (at ground level) using their own panoramic camera technology. The result is their new Eye2eye Britain Panoramic 9 which maps out Britain in 1,650 full-screen 360 degree panoramas, shown using their own display software, plus 11,000 photos.

Investigating Rivers uses breathtaking aerial photography to demonstrate the physical features of rivers from source to mouth. Its two case studies, the Usk in Wales and the Rhône in France, examine how people use rivers for transport, industry and tourism.

Riverflight provides a pilot's-eye view of a river from source to mouth, following the River Usk in South Wales from its bleak moorland source in the Brecon Beacons to the industrial town of Newport. National Geographic Online

National Geographic Online

Publisher: Cengage Learning

National Geographic magazine is the official journal of the National Geographic Society, one of the world's largest non-profit educational and scientific organisations. Recognised for some of the highest-quality photojournalism and cartography in the world, this award-winning, iconic magazine is famous for providing unparalleled, in-depth coverage of cultures, nature, science, technology and the environment. This fascinating online resource features the complete archive of the magazine from 1888 to date including every page and every photograph, all fully searchable through an intuitive interface.

Around 190,000 pages
1,224 issues
34 languages supported.

When National Geographic magazine started publication in 1888 as a scholarly, scientific journal, it reflected the interests of its small, mostly professional, readership. Between its conservative, brown covers, there were no photographs - only studious articles that discussed such topics as "Geographic Methods in Geologic Investigation" and "The Great Storm of March 11-14, 1888."

More than a century later, the now yellow bordered National Geographic brings the world of geography in its broadest sense - to some 60 million readers around the globe each month. With comprehensive, timely articles and legendary photographs and maps, the magazine documents life on our planet and beyond, and interprets the world's sweeping changes through the lens of personal experience.

Through the decades, National Geographic has brought its readers gripping first-person accounts of epic exploration and discovery, from Machu Picchu to Jane Goodall's ground breaking research with chimpanzees to Robert Ballard's discovery of the Titanic.

Every article, every photograph and every map of this vast knowledge base is faithfully reproduced in the new National Geographic Online 1888 to date (please note there is a 45 day embargo). An essential resource for researchers of all ages as well as a fascinating collection for general readers.
